Sustainability in Berlin - CU Denver Semester Abroad
As a global leader in sustainability, the world looks to Germany to learn from its successful efforts in the face of many environmental challenges. German and global organizations, private and public, governmental and non-governmental, have worked together for decades in Berlin to tackle these challenges. Both undergraduate and graduate students now have an amazing opportunity to be a part of this work with the Sustainability in Berlin semester program.
As a joint-venture between the University of Colorado Denver and the Ecologic Institute, this program stands atop two integral pillars. The first is academic. The focus of the academic program will be on issues of sustainability, climate change adaptation and mitigation, environmental protection, and the politics and economics of renewable energy and energy efficiency development.
The second pillar is the internship and research component. Based on their interest and background, students will be placed in an internship with the Ecologic Institute or with another environmental group in Berlin. Students will also complete an independent study project based on their internship and/or a topic of their choosing.
