Program Cost

Tuition for all CU Denver students is $12,000

What's Included​

  • Pre-departure orientation
  • In-country orientation
  • Airport pickup
  • Tuition of up to 16 credits
  • Most required textbooks​
  • Dorm-style shared accommodation
  • International Health and Evacuation Insurance  
  • Meal card (covers approximately 50 meals)
  • Excursions in and around Beijing
  • Support Services in Denver and Beijing

What's not Included:

  • Airfare ($1,300-1,900)
  • Visa fees (Approximately $200)
  • Travel Insurance 
  • Spending Money (On average, students bring $1,200)
  • Passport (Approximately $150)



​The College of Liberal Arts and Sciences is offering several very generous ($2,000 - $5,000) scholarships for study in Beijing. This scholarship is available to CU Denver students only.

Any of the following scholarships are also applicable towards the Semester in Beijing Program for CU and non-CU Denver students:


Financial Aid

  • Financial aid packages can be used to cover the costs of this program. CU Denver students who receive financial aid should contact Sarah Cozzini (303.315.1865) at the Office of Financial Aid to discuss their financial aid award for the Semester in Beijing Program.
  • Financial aid package is based on fixed costs (tuition and room fees) and non-fixed budget estimate (food purchases, round trip airfare, books/personal expenses)
