Mel Jameson is Professor of Finance at UNLV where he joined the faculty in 1989. Since 2000 he has served as Coordinator of International Business Programs for the College of Business. UNLV IB has been affiliated with RMCIBER since 2004 and in this capacity Mel serves on the RMCIBER steering Committee and Research Committee. Mel holds a bachelor’s degree from MIT (economics, 1973) as well as an MA (statistics, 1977) and PhD (economics 1981) from UC Berkeley. His research interests center on international comparisons of financial systems, with particular emphasis on Asian economies. Mel spent his junior year in Munich, Germany, and has visited repeatedly at the National University of Costa Rica in Heredia, Costa Rica, including a Fulbright in 1999. He has taught in both German and Spanish.
