Online Learning FAQ

Overview

How do online courses work?

Each online course is developed to offer everything you'd expect from an on campus UC Denver course. You can

  • Chat with peers
  • Turn in assignments/labs/papers
  • Take tests/quizzes

Each online course is typically divided into units where threaded discussions, assignments, labs, and quizzes are located. Courses may be presented in:

  • Multimedia slides
  • Audio/Video (YouTube, Real Video, etc.)
  • Word/ Google documents

When do online courses start and stop?

Most online courses run on the same semester schedule as the on campus courses.

You do not have to login a particular number of times per week (nor do you have to login at a certain time - unless specified by your professor). However, it is advisable to login at least every other day to stay on top of assignments.
