What Makes This Program Unique
This Palliative Care Certificate provides you with a strong foundation of current palliative care models and practices, while integrating theories of caring and change.
You'll walk away with the skills to develop a change process within your institution, which will enhance and sustain higher-level palliative care (essentially creating Palliative Care champions).
You will utilize evidence-based palliative care practices while incorporating ethical and moral considerations into the course work. And you will learn complex symptom management including physical/pain, psychosocial and spiritual interventions.
The program will allow you to discuss with peers and professors to broaden approaches to model implementation:
- palliative care assessment
- planning in the context of patient scenarios
This certificate will help review palliative care theory in preparation for the Hospice and Palliative Care Nurses Association (HPNA), Palliative Care Nursing Credentialing Examination. (See http://hpna.org for complete criteria, including the number of clinical hours required to sit for the exam).
