Program Requirements

This 16 credit certificate provides you the opportunity to become knowledgable about in the growing field of informatics and the use of health information technologies to provide safe, effective and evidence-based care.

You course content is based on applications to real life work. Your advisor will work with you to select coursework most applicable to your career goals.

The 16 credits to complete this certificate include:

  • 10 credits of core Informatics courses (Decision Support and Data Management; Semantic Representation and System Life Cycle)
  • 6 elective credits, 2 classes chosen from a selection of specialty options (Database management systems; Knowledge Management, Human Computer Interaction Design Principles, Digital Tools for Connected Health)
