BA in Criminal Justice Degree Requirements

There is no difference in requirements (number of credit hours) if you take your CU Denver courses online or on the Auraria campus.

  • Online Bachelors Degrees in Criminal justice =                120 Total Credit Hours
  • Core Curriculum =                             37-39 credits (general education courses)
  • Major (Criminal Justice) Requirements =                        36 credits
  • General Electives =                                                         45-46 credits     

Earn a BACJ & MCJ Degree in 5 Years

The School of Public Affairs offers a Bachelors of Criminal Justice/ Masters Criminal Justice joint degree that allows you to earn graduate level credit while completing courses required for the BA in Criminal Justice degree. A total of 15 dual credits can be applied to both degrees.

The dual degree is designed so that the Master of Criminal Justice degree can be completed with one additional year.
