In 2010, there were 35.6 million people worldwide living with some form of dementia. This number is expected to increase to 65.7 million worldwide by 2030 and 115.4 million by 2050. One in 3 seniors will die with dementia. A common challenge in memory care facilities is preventing falls, and alerting staff if a fall occurs.
This project, in partnership with Anthem Memory Care, is focused on developing a wireless fall detection device for long-term care residents with dementia.
We currently have many exciting project that need students! If you are interested in working in the NTA Lab, send a cover letter and resume to Dr. Cathy Bodine.
