Ken Schroeppel, instructor and director of Professional Engagement for Planning, College of Architectue and Planning, gave three one-hour walking tours of the Denver Union Station project.
On March 20 and 22, he guided 75 people as a fundraiser for the Denver Architectural Foundation and, specifically, Doors Open Denver (DoD). At $25 per person, the three tours raised $1,875 for DoD.
Schroeppel’s tour was the first part, followed by a 45-minute “hard hat” tour inside the historic station, led by prominent Denver developer and historic preservationist Dana Crawford.
On March 21, Schroeppel was interviewed live on Colorado Public Radio station KUVO during their morning First Take news program about urbanism and Denver’s growth and revitalization.
