Boettcher Foundation picks investigators for Webb-Waring Program

6/11/2013
Three CU School of Medicine scholars are among the Boettcher Foundation 2013 Class of Boettcher Investigators in the Webb-Waring Biomedical Research Program. They are Amrut Ambardekar, MD, instructor of medicine – cardiology; Joseph Brzezinski, PhD, assistant professor of ophthalmology; and Abigail Person, PhD, assistant professor of physiology and biophysics.

Boettcher Investigators are awarded $225,000. The Webb-Waring Biomedical Research Program fills an unmet need in the state by assisting early-career investigators engaged in biomedical sciences to advance their research.

Originally founded by Drs. Gerald B. Webb and James J. Waring in 1924 as a free-standing institute for the study of tuberculosis, the Webb-Waring Center has a long-standing history of innovative medical research as well as teaching.
