DENVER - Business Insider, a business and technology news website, is taking a closer look at top universities as rated by U.S. News and World Report, and it’s giving a nod to our university as one of the most underrated schools in the country. When combining data from both the Denver and Anschutz Medical Campuses, Business Insider ranks the university #13.
For their methodology, Business Insider created a composite ranking after comparing rankings in U.S .News and World Report and Payscale.com. Website authors believe there should be a relationship between a school’s reputation rating and the salary of its graduates. The salaries in Payscale.com’s review included financial analyst, physical therapist, mechanical engineer, electrical engineer, human resources manager, physician assistant and intern architect.
“Future income isn't the only factor that should determine college choice, but it may be the most important one,” wrote authors Jennifer Polland, Max Rosenberg and Walter Hickey.
Grants and scholarship resources stand out
The website noted that the university receives more in research grants than any other public school in Colorado and has its Scholarship Resource Office helps students track down scholarships, perfect their resumes and edit essays.
