AURORA and BOULDER, Colo. - As the University of Colorado has grown and evolved many alums have stayed connected -- whether they began or completed their studies on the Denver, Boulder or former 9th Avenue campuses.

Over the weekend, several dozen alums who have pursued pharmacy and pharmaceutical sciences at CU gathered to participate in the third annual official homecoming festivities hosted by the Skaggs School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences. Some completed their programs more than 50 years ago, others graduated in the past few years. The festivities even attracted a number of prospective students.

Many may recall that the pharmacy program, formerly part of the School of Medicine, was offered on the Boulder Campus until 1992 when it move to the 9th Avenue Campus on Colorado Boulevard in Denver.
Now based in the new Skaggs School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences building on the Anschutz Medical Campus, just last year the school marked 100 years of education, patient care and scientific discovery.

As part of the homecoming events, guests toured the new facilities as well as stopped by for an 'eye-opening' presentation in the CAPE (Center for Advancing Professional Education) simulation center. A current fourth-year student talked with visitors about how the technology is applied as a learning tool.
Some of the visitors also participated in a continuing education course "Science in Action" offered by current faculty.

One fairly recent alum remarked about how exciting it was to see the growth of the school.

On Saturday, many in the group headed to Boulder to cheer on the Buffs during their match up with Stanford.
