AURORA, Colo. (April 30, 2014) - For some of our university colleages who've never driven or taken a ride in an alternative-fueled vehicle, they buckled up Tuesday.
Test rides and drives of such vehicles were offered on campus as part of the Earth Month activities over on the Parade Grounds.
A variety of vehicles including; Nissan Leaf, Chevy Volt, Ford C-Max Energi, Ford Fusion Energi & Tesla were available to test drive free of charge. The test drives proved to be extremely popular with lines forming as soon at the event began.
Early birds also got the pick of plants. Free veggie starter plants were available to jump start spring gardens.
The day also offered a chance to drop off stuff for recycling including personal document shredding, unwanted mobile phones and electronic devices, as well as the opportunity to recycle standard waste.
The event was hosted by the Chancellor’s Task Force on Sustainability and the Denver Metro Clean Cities Coalition.
Representative of Bike to Work Day and the RTD FasTracks program also were on hand to encourage attendees to leave their cars at home and ‘go green.’
