Just calling to say ‘Thank you!’

Students and staff gather to dial donors

DENVER – The CU Denver Development Office is hosting the 2nd Annual Thank-a-Thon this week.

Students, faculty and staff are invited to participate by volunteering a couple of hours to call donors who have supported University programs and efforts.

"We recruit volunteers to come to our offices in the Lawrence Street Center to help us call the more than 2,000 donors we had in 2013," said Kristi Sharon of the Development Office. "The idea is to simply say 'Thank you!'

"For the volunteers, the incentive to participate is free food and a chance to express their gratitude. We see this as an annual event, and we would love to build on it every year and really make it a recognized event."

CU Denver's Mascot Milo dropped by, too, during Monday night's shift. His assignment was to greet and cheer on the student volunteers—some of whom have directly benefitted from donor gifts to CU Denver.

Donations to the university support scholarships, research, state-of-the-art facilities, tutoring and more.

Please contact or 303-315-2095 for more information and shift sign up.
