AURORA, Colo. - This weekend is all about moms, so it's a perfect time to celebrate the special relationships between mothers and daughters.
Moms and their daughters are invited to "Let's Talk: Conversations About Women's Health," at the Anschutz Medical Campus on Saturday. The event will run from 8:30 to 11 a.m. in the Trivisible Room of the Research 2 Building.
The mission of the "Let's Talk" series is to empower women to take control of their health. It is co-presented by the University of Colorado Hospital Women's Integrated Services in Health (WISH) and the University of Colorado Center for Women's Health Research.
This "Let's Talk" event is specifically designed for women to bring their 12- to 25-year-old daughters to learn information that will benefit them for a lifetime. It will be a fun morning of learning and bonding.
Providing entertainment and humor will be GIRLS ONLY, an improv team from the Denver Performing Arts Complex.
The idea of the event -- the third in the Let's Talk series this year -- is to encourage a multigenerational conversation, said Rick Plummer, of the University of Colorado Hospital marketing department. "These kids will eventually become moms," he said. "So we want to help them now so that when they become moms they can make informed health decisions."
Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. with breakfast and interactive exhibits. Cost is $5 per person. Limited space is available, so it's recommended that you call Chiara DelMonaco at 720-848-4023 to reserve a spot.
