Silver Society works to stay involved in campus activities as well as the surrounding community. Participants bring awareness about various needs within the surrounding community such as fun events for the children at The Children’s Hospital, a holiday canned-food drive for Chuck’s Kids as part of the Metro Community Provider Network and recruiting volunteers to raise money or volunteer their service at the 9News Health Fair as well as the Rock and Roll Marathon. They host an annual event to raise funds for area non-profit organizations. This year, the proceeds from their auction went to the Colorado Coalition for the Homeless. They also raised funds for the Stout Street Clinic, cooked meals at the Ronald McDonald House, worked with Girls on the Run, held soap and coat drives, and volunteered for many area runs and marathons.
"Silver Society does an excellent job educating and supporting our community and the AMC Senate recognized them for all of their hard work," Lia Nelson-James, coordinator of Services and Programs said.
