Dual-campus / consolidated branding

In order to maintain distinct campus brands and objectives, use of the dual-campus name or identity should be avoided for external communications, marketing or advertsiing whenever possible.

In select cases, it may be neccesary to refer to the dual-campus / consolidated institution rather than the Denver and Anschutz campuses separately. These cases are rare, and should be limited to only those units or communications that speak to both campus audiences.

In such cases, the following naming conventions should be observed:

Full name / first reference:

University of Colorado Denver | Anschutz Medical Campus

(in spoken form, the vertical slash is articulated as "and the")

Short name / secondary reference:

CU Denver | Anschutz; CU Denver/Anschutz; the university

(in short form, either the vertical slash with extra spaces before & after, or the forward slash wihtout spacing, are acceptable)

Unacceptable use

UCDAMC, UCDHSC, UC Denver, any use of single-campus names for dual-campus identification; any use of commas, hyphens or "at" before Denver

School and college names

  • College of Engineering and Applied Science
  • Graduate School

Unit names

Whenever possible, the terms "Office of" and "Department of" should be excluded from unit names. For example:

  • University Communications
  • Student Affairs
  • International Admissions
  • Academic Technology and Extended Learning
