Dominic F. Martinez

Dominic F. Ma rtinez is the Senior Director of the Office of Inclusion and Outreach at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus. Before becoming the Senior Director, Dominic served as the Director, Assistant Director and Associate Director of the Office which he has now been with for over ten years. Prior to his arrival at CU, Dominic worked at the University of Wyoming as the Assistant Director of Admission and coordinator of Minority Student Recruitment for over four years. Dominic graduated from the University of Wyoming with a Bachelor’s of Arts degree in Secondary Education with an emphasis in Multicultural History and Student Movements. Dominic received his Masters of Arts degree in Religious Studies with an emphasis in diversity and cultural/religious identities from the Department of Religious Studies at CU Boulder and his Doctorate of Education degree in Leadership for Educational Equity from CU Denver School of Education and Human Development. Dominic and his wife, Amber Martinez are proud parents of three beautiful children.


Christian Valtierra

Christian Valtierra is the Associate Director of the Office of Inclusion and Outreach at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus. Prior to his arrival at CU, Christian worked at Colorado State University as the Assistant Director for In-State Recruitment in the Office of Admissions. He also worked for the University of Nebraska-Lincoln as the Assistant Director for Multicultural Recruitment, Office of Admissions. Christian graduated from the University of Wyoming with a Bachelor’s of Arts degree in Secondary Education along with a Minor in African-American Studies. Christian received his Masters of Education in Educational Administration-Student Affairs at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Christian is bilingual and was originally born in Leon, Mexico, but calls the beautiful state of Wyoming home where he spent the majority of his childhood.


Screen Shot 2018-06-27 at 10.05.40 AM.pngSam Dancis is the Program Coordinator for the Office of Inclusion and Equity, and Program Director of the CU Pre-Health Scholars program. They previously worked as the Education Coordinator for TRIO High School Upward Bound at the Metropolitan State University of Denver. Sam graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in History from Rutgers University in New Brunswick, New Jersey. They earned a Masters in Education, with a concentration in Social Justice from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. While in Amherst, MA Sam co-ran an in-school tutoring center at Amherst Regional High School. They also served as the graduate assistant for Student Bridges, an undergraduate run organization dedicated to increasing access to and retention within higher education. In their free time, Sam enjoys hiking, woodworking and hanging out with their adorable dog Matilda.


Screen Shot 2018-10-15 at 8.39.48 AM.pngAlisha M Elliott serves as the Undergraduate Program Coordinator with the Office of Inclusion and Outreach, and the Undergraduate Pre-Health Program Director. Prior to her arrival at CU, she served as the Assistant Director for the Bruce D. Nesbitt African American Cultural Center at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. Alisha graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication and a minor in Ethnic Studies from the University of Colorado. Continuing her education at the University of Denver, Alisha acquired her Master of Arts in Education, with a concentration on Diversity and Higher Learning. She specializes in facilitating workshops centered around diversity and inclusion, health and wellness, health equity and p-20 pipeline programs. Alisha is best known for cultivating inclusive communities, educating and empowering future leaders.  As the Community Service Chair for the Denver Urban League Young Professionals, Alisha believes that finding true purpose in this world comes from sharing one’s gift and that this gift must first be discovered through self-love, engagement and service.  


Vicky SaulsberryVicky Saulsberry is the Administrative Assistant of the Office of Inclusion and Outreach at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus. Prior to that, she worked for the University of Colorado College of Nursing for 10 years. She has been employed with the University for over 18 years. She recently received her Associate Degree in Applied Sciences, with a Management and Human Resources Emphasis. She is currently enrolled at Metropolitan State University of Denver to earn a Bachelor’s Degree. Aside from working, and going to school, she enjoys spending time with her husband, and her four children.
