"I'm awkward, how do I do this?" Hi! I'm Gabby and I'm going to school for my BS in Psychology. I am aiming to one day get my Ph.D. in Neuroscience and I plan to work in a research lab. I'm Native American (Ute, Apache, Navajo) mixed with Spanish, Scottish, and Caucasian (just to name a few). I recently found out that I am Autistic and now realize that my identity has so much more to do with not only what my blood is, but also, who I am as a perosn (if that makes sense). By learning that I am Autistic, I've never felt more comfortable in my skin as I do now and I bask in it. I've had a wide range of different kinds of jobs, giving me unique experiences for each one. I am the web designer for CII so I help give our website a bit more of a cozy feel. I'm also part of MBSA (Mixed Biracial Student Alliance) to help students with a more diverse background to feel more welcome. Working at CII has been the best job with the greatest experience I've had so far.  CII truly is a home away from home.

They both came to America at different ages but met in Fresno, California. My major is Biology. With this degree, I decided to go into research or working in the laboratory. I find everything very interesting, but with biology, I love learning about the human body and the amazing things it does. As a fourth-year student, I am still open to a different career which could be a good or bad thing. I will be working as an office assistant and helping with event planning for Soyon Bueno in the CII office. I am also involved in the Hmong Student Association (HSA). Some things that I like to do is read, dance, sew, exercise and be creative in my spare time.
