process, each program is required to submit an annual assessment “results
report” to the assessment committee at the end of the academic year describing
its assessment results for that year as well as its plans for program
modifications in the next academic year. Programs that are new to the process
or have not submitted a recent report are required to also submit a planning
report early in the academic year.
programs may use the guides provided by the assessment committee, they may also
use a different format that better serves their purposes (e.g., professional
accreditation) as long as the program “results report” describes modifications
based on direct assessments of student learning. The content for the reports
can vary as well. For example, some programs report multiple assessment results
for all of their learning outcomes, while other programs focus in depth on
assessment results for a small number of learning outcomes.
