Title

Non editable reusable content cannot be selected with the mouse, and is not grayed out anymore

Assigned To

Rowley, Kristin

Brief Description

Although this is by design, their could be ways with CSS/JS trickery to make noneitable reusable content easier to interact with.

Detailed Description

Reusable content that is editable, is selectable -- reusable content that is not editable (is automatically updated) is not selectable.

Comments

Demers, ScottNo presence information (12/5/2011 3:19 PM): Possible opacity issue. The fact that it's not selectable is another issue.
Rowley, KristinNo presence information (11/10/2011 2:54 PM): Options: 1. figure out if .net is doing something and make it stop 2. write a javascript that only runs in edit mode that turns the transparency down on the reusable content item so it appears grayed out.

Rowley, KristinNo presence information (11/10/2011 2:18 PM): Reusable content with 'automatic update' checked is not selectable in the OOTB version of SP2010 either.

This functionality does not appear to have anything to do with CSS. In Content1 layout, there is an additional attribute on reusable content for: unselectable="on" that shows up - maybe this is causing the problem. A search of the internet shows it to be a .net attribute: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms534706(v=vs.85).aspx
Demers, ScottNo presence information (11/7/2011 4:27 PM): Can we see what CSS is being altered between the out-of-the-box and our environment?
Demers, ScottNo presence information (11/7/2011 3:11 PM): has an attribute for "non selectable". OOB 2010 sites? Likely. Need a better interface.
