Faculty and staff home page - first step toward building the intranet!
Services (UWS), in partnership with University Communications, is making changes
to improve the website both for people within CU Denver | Anschutz and for outside
and staff, UWS will create an intranet – a place where you can log in to
collaborate on projects and have easy access to the information and services you
need to do your work.
Why do this? Our
organization is a big, complex place, and currently the university website is
trying to accomplish too much for too many. By trying to reach all our
audiences we haven’t been serving any of them as effectively as we could. See
the University Intranet Project Overview for details on these challenges.
Our new web
strategy includes breaking the website into segments – one for the public, one
for our students, and one for our faculty and staff.
Most notably, we will move content for faculty and staff to an internal
website, allowing us to better meet the needs of the public – prospective students,
the community, and patients – on our university website. The internal website,
a piece of the larger intranet planned for the university, will be built out in
the coming months.
to see these changes on May 29 when three new homepage designs will be unveiled:
The redesigned ucdenver.edu home page will build awareness of the consolidated university and its programs and services among external audiences. Specific audiences include prospective students; current and prospective business, research and community partners; and potential patients.
The new home page, a responsive layout, adapts to any device it is
viewed on—from desktop monitors to a variety of mobile devices.
A new home page for faculty and staff, accessed directly from the redesigned university home page, will provide a gateway to our new internal website. Faculty and staff will be able to access information and services specific to their work from this new internal home page. This new page is the first step toward our internal website, part of the larger intranet. The project team will begin work to build out content and functionality for the internal website in the months to come.
A new home page for students, also accessed directly from the redesigned university home page, will give students a direct path to student services, course login and other topics salient to active university life.
Launching the three new home pages is
a significant step toward improved services for our audiences. With the faculty and staff home page in place,
UWS can build the internal website and officially kick off the Intranet Project.
