This Web branding guide is part of a larger marketing and branding initiative for the University of Colorado Denver. This guide focuses primarily on the look and structure of the Web site. The primary goal is to promote a consistent look and feel for university schools, departments, administrative offices and university-affiliated centers.
Create Uniform User Experience.
When applied to university Web sites, these guidelines will ensure consistency in page layout, functionality, navigation, and branding.
Create Flexible Design.
The customizable university Web templates can easily be applied to any official university site. Sites can take on a unique personality through site-specific graphics, photographs, and content.
Establish a Strong Brand.
Many of the existing university sites employ a variety of color schemes and logos, diluting the ability of the university to establish a consistent look and feel. The goal of the Web templates is to standardize university colors as its primary colors.
The Web Administrative Team has been charged to monitor compliance with CU Denver Web Identity standards. The team, through Integrated University Communications and University Web Services, will assist units in adapting their sites to these standards. The standards will evolve with experience and through consultation with the Communications Advisory Council, the Associate Deans and Academic Support Group and the Academic Support and the Academic and Student Affairs Leadership committee.
Units should direct inquiries to either the Office of Integrated University Communications or University Web Services.
