Febraury 2012

As you know, the SPDAT meeting for this month was canceled due to the holiday at AMC.  We do not, however, want the cancelation to slow down the momentum on the topics in which we hoped to gather your opinions and feedback. As such, please note the following:

Change Management

The UWS Change Management project is in full swing. The purpose of this project is to improve customer service, clearly define expectations and responsibilities, and provide a more stable environment for web maintenance and development using SharePoint. We would like to share our plans and progress with you, and gather your opinions and suggestions to ensure the outputs of the project result in an improved editing, development, and support experience for everyone involved.
In lieu of waiting another month to discuss the details of the Change Management process with you, we will be setting up individual meetings with the webmasters of schools, colleges, and departments within the next couple of weeks. You can expect to see an invite soon.

Evolving SPDAT Opinion Survey

As previously mentioned, we would like to get your opinion on how the SPDAT can evolve moving forward. We will always have a need to both share our major project updates with you and provide a forum in which to share web tips and tricks, but we also see opportunities to expand our community to include additional events such as lunch-n- learns, webinars, webmaster-level open labs and/or additional training events.
We’re curious to know if you would be interested in evolving the format and topics of the SPDAT. Please take this survey and share your thoughts.

Google Analytics Sessions

Jeremy recently gave a presentation about Google Analytics at the CU Boulder campus, and it was very well received. The session used live data from the website to demonstrate the top Google Analytics features such as reports, segments, event and campaign tracking, alerts, etc. Attendees received a foundational understanding of web analytics, including how to read and interpret basic reports and how to navigate and use the Google Analytics tool.
Knowing web analytics can be one of the most powerful tools to enable us to improve our web sites, UWS will offer the same presentation both at the Lawrence Street Center downtown, and at the Anschutz Medical Campus within the next month. We invite you all to come, and to share the invitation with any other interested parties in your web community.
Anyone who would like to join us for a Google Analytics session should sign up via the Training Schedule on the UWS web site.  The session downtown is Monday, March 5 from 2:30 – 4 PM, and the session at AMC is Friday, March 16 from 9 – 10:30 AM.
If you have any specific questions, please feel free to contact a UWS representative directly; otherwise, we’ll see you soon to discuss the Change Management project.
