April SPDAT Meeting Discussion
For April’s SPDAT meeting, we’ll talk about the University Web Services (UWS) Change Management Project. We first brought ideas for this project to SPDAT in November, when we outlined our plans for improving customer service, clearly defining expectations and responsibilities, and providing a more stable environment for web maintenance and development using SharePoint. UWS has been diligently working on the project since that initial discussion.
In early March, we offered an opportunity for all webmasters to learn about the progress of the Change Management project, and provide opinions, feedback, and suggestions to ensure the outputs of the project result in an improved editing, development, and support experience for everyone involved. The meetings we had with the webmasters who accepted the opportunity were invaluable; we gathered a wealth of new ideas to consider as we continue to work through the project.
We have incorporated all the feedback received from webmasters, and developed a timeline for the remaining tasks in the Change Management project. As such, the April SPDAT meeting provides a final chance for feedback before UWS drives toward project implementation.
