Higher Education Opportunity Act (HEOA) and Other Federal Regulations

HEOA is the Higher Education Opportunity Act of 2008 (otherwise known as Public Law 110-315).  It amends and reauthorizes the Higher Education Act of 1965 and was signed into law on August 14, 2008.  The Act includes a variety of disclosure and reporting requirements, some of which overlap.  With respect to disclosure, each institution is required to disseminate and/or make available specific information to students, parents, employees, or other constituents.  As for reporting, each institution is required to submit information to the U.S. Department of Education or other organizations.

While this website is presented by the Office of Institutional Research & Effectiveness to assist in meeting the HEOA disclosure requirements, many university units have been involved in assembling the information presented herein.

Student Complaints: Any individual who continues to feel aggrieved after pursuing the options offered elsewhere, is unable to resolve the problems, or believes the institution has not properly addressed the concerns, may file a written complaint with the Colorado Department of Higher Education. Gainful Employment Program Disclosure: At public and private not-for-profit institutions, gainful employment programs are standalone Title IV-eligible certificate programs (excluding teacher certification programs where the institution itself does not provide a certificate but which consist of a collection of course work necessary for the student to receive a State professional teaching credential or certification.
