Over the last fourteen years, the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus has undertaken two comprehensive master planning efforts, the first in 1998, followed by an update in 2002. In the ten years since the 2002 planning effort, the Anschutz Medical Campus has achieved great success, undergoing substantial transformative growth in its education, research and clinical missions and in developing state-of-the-art facilities to support these efforts. To maintain this positive forward momentum, the university is now conducting an update to the master plan.
The master plan update is occurring in two phases that address both the Anschutz Medical Campus and Site-Wide Coordinated neighborhood (see maps below for boundaries of each area). Phase I identifies current campus and site-wide issues, constraints and opportunities, and updates planning information, data and development since 2002. Phase II addresses Phase I findings by exploring and evaluating alternative scenarios that anticipate future change. Phase I was completed in December, 2011. Phase II is currently underway with a completion date set for July 1, 2013.
The Office of Institutional Planning looks forward to sharing the updated master plan with campus, site-wide, and neighboring communities.
