Connecting Remotely to Email

Outlook Web Access

Outlook Web Access or commonly referred to as OWA or Webmail, allows anyone with a campus mailbox to access their mail and calendar from anywhere in the world as long as they are connected to the internet with a supported browser. Most browsers will work but only Microsoft Internet Explorer will provide the full set of features available. All other browsers utilize what is called “Web Access Light” and is a subset of OWA features

Outlook Anywhere

This functionality provided by Microsoft Exchange server will allow you to connect (without the need for a VPN connection) to your mailbox/calendar from anywhere in the world as long has you have an internet connection and are using Microsoft Outlook 2003, 2007 or 2010 clients. Outlook 1007 and 2010 configuration is very simple and easy. All you will need is your email address, account username and password. Outlook 2003 is more complicated and will need to be configured while on campus or from a VPN connected computer. Click this link for instructions for Outlook Anywhere Configurations.
