Active Facilities Projects

Academic 1 First Floor Renovation

Project Overview

The AO1 First Floor Renovation project will be the next step in the evolution of CU Anschutz’s commitment to providing more modern, sustainable, and responsive workplace environments for its faculty and staff.

Mindful of the fact that our prior strategy of providing private, dedicated offices for each of our faculty members is neither preferred by many faculty, sustainable, cost-effective, or conducive to our mission to promote interdisciplinary collaboration, the AO1 First Floor renovation Project will exemplify a new more flexible workplace modality more in tune with the zeitgeist of a 21st Century open and shared work space culture.

A great variety of flexible working/meeting configurations will be included to accommodate any permutation of collaborative engagement or workspace preference. The promotion of these types of spaces is recommended on campus to help build an integrated community of education, research, and health care professionals.  Other support spaces such as a kitchenette, and a shared workroom with copier, printer, office supplies and mail will be provided as well. Of note, individuals who will occupy this space, do not have dedicated office space elsewhere.
