Electrical Contractor License and Registration Requirements and Verification Process


REQUIREMENTS
·         All Electrical Contractors with the desire to perform work at the University of Colorado Denver and/or affiliated institutions (University of Colorado Hospital and Children’s Hospital of Colorado) shall be registered and licensed through the Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA).
·         Each electrician employed by said contractor and performing work at University of Colorado Denver and/or affiliated institutions shall also be licensed through DORA.
·         Per CRS 12 23-110.5, the Journeyman-to-Apprentice supervision on all projects shall be no more than a one to three ratio.
VERIFICATION PROCESS
·         At the time of awarding a contract for a project, the General Contractor will be notified that the Electrical Sub-contractor shall provide a list of names and license numbers for the personnel working on the project.  This list will be cross referenced and verified through the Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA) website.  Anyone who has not obtained the proper DORA documentation shall not be allowed to preform work on any UCD Campus or affiliated institution (including University of Colorado Hospital and Children’s Hospital of Colorado).
·         At the beginning of the construction project, the Electrical Inspector shall be provided with licenses of all Electricians on site.  As the project continues, periodic checks shall be performed until the project is complete.  If and when new personnel arrive, it will be the responsibility of the General Contractor and Electrical Sub-contractor to update and provide the Electrical Inspector with the required documentation.
·         If anyone is found without the required license, they shall be removed from the project until sufficient documentation has been provided.
