Youssef Soliman

UPP 2013-2014 Cohort

Youssef is currently studying Biology at the University of Colorado Denver. As a culturally well-versed individual, having been communally exposed to a variety of people from different countries, Youssef truly views himself as a global citizen. He was born in Egypt, spent some time living in England, and finally moved to the United States with his family in 2004. Having been a part of the American Youth Leadership Program, funded by the United States Department of Educational and Cultural Affairs, he was able to travel and live among some of, as he explains, the most influential and real people he has met thus far in life. Meeting and living with differing communities within different countries has really shaped who he is and is one of the reasons he wishes to, as a future health care provider, give back to and serve his global community.

Locally, Youssef plays an integral role in his close-nit Egyptian community. He is amongst few in his age group that fluently speaks both Arabic and English, and often uses this skill to connect himself and others with the differing age demographics within his community.

Youssef truly comes form a diverse and rich background and, as an extremely motivated individual, is excited to be a part of the Undergraduate Pre-Health Program.
