Blessed Otabil is a sophomore majoring in biology at the Community College of Aurora. He is a first-generation student and expects to obtain his bachelor’s degree by 2016 and plans to go to the medical school from there. He is a proud Mile-High STEM Scholarship recipient. He loves taking part in extracurricular activities. He has completed Student Transfer Success Program and currently been accepted to a Peer leadership Program. He is also a member of the school’s honor society; Phi Theta Kappa. His work as a health care technician at the Denver Health hospital and a volunteer at the University of Colorado Hospital in day surgery has attributed to his conviction of becoming a doctor in the future. He applied for the Undergraduate Pre-Health Program not only to learn more about health disparities and be part of a team of fighting the problem, but also to be exposed more in the health field. Blessed is excited to be an intern in the laboratory at Kaiser Permanente. He enjoys playing his keyboard and soccer with friends at his free time. His smile is contagious.
