An Equity-Serving Institution
At CU Denver, equity means that everyone can find a fulfilling path to success. We believe that equity is a justice issue, an institutional and leadership priority and imperative, and a value that guides everything we do. Becoming the nation’s first equity-serving institution means we are creating an environment where one’s racial and social identity no longer predetermines educational outcomes and professional advancement opportunities. We recognize inequities among all underserved communities and strive to address them through multifaceted approaches that include policy and structural reforms, inclusive academic programming and research opportunities, inclusive hiring and retention practices, and mutually beneficial partnerships.

AAPI Heritage Month
Asian American Pacific Islander (AAPI) Heritage Month occurs in May to celebrate, uplift, and educate others about the complex history and identities of those in the AAPI community. Due to the nature of our academic schedule, we celebrate AAPI Heritage Month during April. Every year we create programming surrounding the experiences and issues of the AAPI community. Through our events, we celebrate the vast diversity within the AAPI identity and bring to light issues that our community is experiencing in order to grow and heal.
Inclusive Self-Reported Demographics Project
Your input is needed! We are conducting an evaluation of our data systems to ensure that the diverse and varied identities of our campus community are accurately reflected in our online systems in an effort to reduce harm and invisibility. You can view the current state of our data systems and some initial recommendations from the CU System about how they could be changed then submit your feedback and recommendations.
