Monica is currently a senior at the University of Colorado Boulder. She is majoring in Integrative Physiology and Psychology in hopes of pursuing a career in the health professions. She is a first-generation Mexican-American and first-generation college student, making her family extremely proud. Her hard work and dedication to education have carried throughout her life, as shown by her schoolwork and her hunger to learn. She is a research assistant at the Maier-Watkins pain lab at the Boulder campus, constantly seeking to learn new discoveries and new techniques she can use in her career. She loves kids and wants to focus her career around them, but being so close to applying to post graduate programs, UPP will help her decide her next step by exposing her to many options of how she can contribute to the health of little ones.
