Fernando Garcia is a current sophomore at the Community College of Aurora student who is majoring in nursing in the spring of 2015. He is a first generation American and College student. He is a great friend, son, and brother who values family unity and moral values. He volunteers at Saint Joseph Hospital’s Emergency Department and is a peer mentor in his school’s TRiO program. He applied for the Undergraduate pre-health program because he really wanted to learn more about the disparities in health care; he wanted to be part of a team whose goal is to fight the disparities. He wants to change the way his community thinks about health care and goal is to promote Kaiser’s Thrive campaign among them for better health. He is honored and very excited to be in the Undergraduate Pre-health Program powered by University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus and Kaiser Permanente two of the biggest healthcare names in Colorado.
