Nick is a hard-working motivated individual. He sets goals that are realistic, but also that challenge him to better himself on his way to obtaining them. He was motivated to apply to UPP with the encouragement of the BA/BS-MD director at CU Denver, Dr. Charlie Ferguson. Not only did he have encouragement, but being a part of a program that gave pre-health students a chance to be involved in research or shadowing was something that provoked a feeling of purpose. It was great to be able to say he was doing important research for the psychology department at Children’s Hospital or shadowing pediatricians while they made their rounds. To achieve his goal of becoming a physician, Nick is seeking out additional research and shadowing opportunities to supplement his school work in order to be a good candidate for medical school. Soon he will be making a difference as a leading physician.
