The Celebrate Diversity Series is a monthly series of events that focus on issues related to health disparities, diversity and cultural competency. Events are schedule throughout the academic year. The events take place on the third Friday of each month and are open to all students, faculty and staff.

Health Disparities Video Series Workshops
These workshops incorporates a film-driven approach using Kaiser Permanente’s Telly-Award Winning Diversity & Health Series to provide a rich context for exploring the unique cultures of five specific populations.
The purpose of the films is to raise the cultural awareness, knowledge and skills of health care providers and employees for the purpose of achieving:
Enhanced patient interactions and health outcomes;
Respectful and productive relationships in the workplace; and
Collaborative relationships with the communities they serve to find solutions to eliminate healthcare disparities.
Discussion
The student senate and each program has assigned one or more students to be student advisors to the Office of Inclusion and Outreach. We meet to discuss issues and diversity.
SABES
The Office of Office of Inclusion and Outreach continues to provide administrative support for the SABES (Spanish Acquisition Begets Enhanced Service) group. We provide office space, copy materials and order the lunches for the mentors.

The Office of Inclusion and Outreach has a large collection of multicultural literature, diversity training videos and games that can be use for nurturing diversity and inclusion. The Denver Hospice Brown Bag Series
The Denver Hospice and Office of Diversity and Inclusion will be providing brown bag sessions on dealing with terminally –ill patients and their cultural environment. Every culture is unique when it comes to caring for terminally-ill patients. These presentations offer tips on caring for diverse families at such a critical time – end-of-life. These presentations will focus on everything from the importance of family and special prayers in the diverse community to foods, holiday observances, customs, funeral arrangements, bereavement and grief.
