Dreaming Sin Fronteras (Dreaming Without Borders) is a world premier performance of live music and storytelling directed by Antonio Mercado, professor of Theater & Film at CU Denver. Music Director, Shawn King, is most recognized as the drummer for the Grammy nominated DeVotchKa.   Performances include Raul Pacheco of the culture mashers, Ozomatli; Grammy nominee, Ceci Bastida of the first Mexican punk band Tijuna No! & Stephen Brackett of The Flobtos.

DREAMING SIN FRONTERAS is a medley of stories and actual testimonies from undocumented youth, known as DREAMERS, who were brought to the United States as toddlers and grew up every bit as American as those born within its borders.  These individuals, in the early stages of their lives, have done everything right, studied hard, only to suddenly face the threat of deportation to a country that they are disconnected from and have no memory.  The stories explore the complexities and contributions of immigrants- not centered on the rhetoric and speechifying that has overwhelmed the issue, but on the whole spectrum of immigration as a humanitarian issue.
