About the Hispanic Student Services
The Office of Hispanic Student Services (HSS) has existed at the University of Colorado Denver since the early 70’s. Its existence has benefited hundreds of students by providing them with services and programming aimed at encouraging educational excellence through promoting increased admissions, retention and graduation of Hispanic Students.
Services and programs provided by the HSS office, include:
- Outreach to area high schools
- Assistance in applying and gaining admissions to CU Denver
- Assistance in applying for financial aid & scholarships
- Holistic Advising, Advocacy & Support
- Probation & Suspension Monitoring
- Referral to campus & community resources
- Promotion of STEM disciplines through Co-AMP participation
- Support & Advisement for Student Organizations
- Graduate Exploration/Assistance
- Cultural programming & events aimed at fostering a culture of inclusion across the campus community and Celebrating all Hispanic cultures
