Course Rationale
This Navigation & the Healthcare System Course was built for the University of Colorado Cancer Center to teach Patient Navigators about their role in the community and with patients.
This course is organized into three modules that describe patient navigation’s role in reducing health disparities and improving treatment for chronic diseases.
Course Objectives
In this course Patient Navigators will learn about:
- Patient navigation and health disparities
- Components of patient-centered models of care
- Patient navigator roles & responsibilities
