Geography major Christiane Reiser lived on a ship off the coast of Alaska and helped map the ocean floor, as part of her internship with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA).

Performing Iron II

Students in the College of Arts & Media heated iron to 2,500 degrees Fahrenheit and poured the molten metal into molds to make cast iron objects—and to wow spectators.

Race the Scorpion

​Molly Zimmerman reached down to scrub the filthy, old truck engine. Then, in a dirt-caked nook of the engine, she saw it: a baby scorpion. It was settled. The name of her senior design team's alternative-energy race car would be "The Scorpion."
