Treating depression

Depression Center offers hope to patients

George and Betsy Wiegers
Wiegers Family Foundation

After three suicide attempts, Gretchen Cheverton now has found successful treatment at the University of Colorado Depression Center.  “It’s brilliant,” she says.  “It’s like being touched by the hand of God.”

Hers is just one life of many that have been saved by the hand of a very real human being--George Wiegers.

Wiegers is one man with one goal—to bring bipolar disorder out of the closet.  He has taken his family’s history and turned it into a national safety net for people with bipolar disorder.  His efforts have had a profound effect on the lives of too many people who have suffered in silence.
