Terri C. Carrothers began her career with the University of Colorado in 1978 within University of Colorado Hospital, known at that time as Colorado General Hospital, and has worked for CU in a variety of administrative roles since that time.
In 1990, she became the administrator for the Division of Endocrinology, Metabolism and Diabetes in the University of Colorado School of Medicine and also was directly responsible for the management and growth of a large, diverse clinical practice. In 2008 she was appointed assistant dean, chief of staff to the Dean in the CU School of Medicine and served as director of finance and administration for the department of medicine during a portion of this time. She was promoted to associate dean for administration and finance in the School of Medicine while retaining her chief of staff role in 2010. In these roles she was responsible for the School of Medicine’s finances, budget, human resources, procurement, communications, information technology, business intelligence, project management and administration activities.
As executive vice chancellor of administration and finance, she oversees university functions for the University of Colorado Denver | Anschutz Medical Campus, including facilities, finance, student financial services, human resources, information technology services, and university police. She also serves as the financial representative on various boards and committees. For CU Anschutz, she oversees the Budget Office including business strategy and quality control, and the Institutional Planning Office. She oversees a budget of more than $2 billion and plays an integral role in the ongoing development of the university’s many programs and initiatives. Carrothers also serves as the chief financial officer for CU Anschutz.
