Dear Students, Faculty and Staff,
Our thoughts are with those of you who have been impacted by the wildfires throughout Colorado these past few weeks. We express our deepest sympathies particularly to those whose homes have been damaged or destroyed.
The University of Colorado Denver │ Anschutz Medical Campus is committed to helping students and employees who have been affected by the wildfires. Students who need housing or are looking to move into Campus Village early should contact Dean of Students Samantha Ortiz at 303-556-3519 or Samantha.Ortiz@ucdenver.edu
. Students can also contact Dean Ortiz with academic questions, including scheduling issues.
Here's a list of university offices that can provide additional information and services for students and employees impacted by the fires:
Anschutz Medical Campus Students
Faculty and Staff (Both Campuses)
Throughout the CU system, groups and individuals have been working to assist with fire relief efforts. Our sister campuses in Colorado Springs and Boulder have been on the front lines, helping with community response and hosting evacuees, firefighters and others. And faculty, staff and students from our two campuses have given their time, energy and resources to help those in need.
CU Denver student leaders will be hosting a fundraising drive on campus this week to collect donations to the American Red Cross for wildfire victims. Students will be accepting donations at the entrance to the Tivoli that is in front of the Turnhalle today (Tuesday, July 3) and Thursday, July 5 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. They will be able to accept only cash or checks, not credit cards. Please make checks payable to the Red Cross. In addition, the Exempt Professional Assembly is collecting item donations at various sites on both campuses. For a list of items needed and donation sites, please go to www.ucdenver.edu/epa
. For information on other ways to help those affected by the wildfires, please visit helpcoloradonow.org
Now, more than ever, I am proud to be part of the CU community and of the creative and inspired ways it is pulling together to help others cope, contribute and rebuild. Thank you.
