Commencement honors the achievement of one's academic goals. CU Denver ceremonies occur twice a year in December and May. Summer graduates are invited to participate in the fall ceremony. Tickets are not issued for either commencement ceremony, but registration is required to confirm attendance and reserve regalia.

New Student Convocation is the official welcome for all new students to the University of Colorado Denver. This event marks the beginning of a student’s time at CU Denver. Convocation happens the Friday before the fall semester starts.
