The Colorado AHEC offers three fourth-year medical student electives to senior students at the University of Colorado School of Medicine.

FMMD 8011 – Colon Cancer & Endoscopy

  • Joseph Martinez’s approval is required to enroll in this course. 
  • A two-week independent study of the epidemiology, pathophysiology, clinical presentation, screening and prevention of colorectal cancer. Students will complete an online didactic course, 30-40 lower GI endoscopy cases on a state-of-the-art endoscopy simulator and possibly a clinical observation experience.
