Kiersten Kugeler has approximately 10 years of experience as an epidemiologist working on a wide range of domestic and international public health activities. She holds a Master of Public Health degree in Molecular Epidemiology from the University of Michigan and a PhD in Environmental Health (with a specialization in Epidemiology) from Colorado State University. She serves as a subject matter expert with responsibility for surveillance, response, research, and prevention of plague, tularemia, and Lyme disease. Kiersten’s current activities consist of coordination of several multi-disciplinary and multi-agency programs in the United States and Uganda, including a cross-cutting initiative to develop efficient surveillance systems within the Uganda Ministry of Health and to build appropriate infectious disease laboratory capacity.
