The U.S. Department and Urban Development, in partnership with the University of Colorado Denver School of Public Affairs will host a regional convening in support of the United Nations’ Habitat III. The UN convened the first Habitat conference in 1976 in Vancouver, sparking an international dialogue on urban issues. At Habitat III, participants will develop a “New Urban Agenda,” an action-oriented outcome document that addresses 21st Century challenges and harnesses the tremendous potential of cities to promote sustainable development.
The regional convening will consist of best policy practices panel presentations and speakers from throughout the Mountain West which focus on Habitat III themes: Securing Housing Options for All; Economic Mobility and Social Equality; and Sustainable and Resilient Urban Development.
There will be a post event reception beginning at 4:45 p.m. at the Epernay Lounge where appetizers and a cash bar will be provided.
