Abstract: Law, including legislation, regulation and litigation, has proven to be one of the most effective tools in protecting and enhancing the well being of populations. Perhaps the most controversial component of the law in this regard is litigation. This seminar will trace the use of litigation through motor vehicle safety, gun violence prevention, and tobacco to its prospective use in addressing the obesity epidemic in the United States.
