Career Essentials Workshop

Start Date

2/7/2018 3:00 PM

End Time

The Business School recognizes the need for students and graduates to be prepared academically, professionally, and personally. The competition for top jobs is significant, and how you present yourself in written and verbal interactions is paramount to your success. ‘How you show’ is just as important as ‘what you know.’ We offer you an important career session to help polish your personal brand. The Career Essentials Workshop is a fast-paced, 60-minute session to discuss the basics of resumes, LinkedIn profiles, networking, career fairs, and professional etiquette. These sessions are ONLY open to Business School students and alumni. You only need to attend one of these workshop sessions. Seats are limited. **OPTIONAL: EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING (BGEN) GRADUATION REQUIREMENT - At the end of the 60-minute workshop you will have the opportunity to stay an extra 10 minutes and fulfill the ELC's Internship Orientation Workshop requirement. We will cover Academic vs. Not-for-Credit internships and the internship process. We will help you understand your rights, responsibilities, eligibility, and legal liability associated with completing an internship. After you complete this you will be given access to the internship database. You should also then begin to meet one-on-one with your internship advisor. Please note, if you have already received an internship offer, your next step is different. Please call the Experiential Learning Center front desk at 303-315-7258.
